A 12-week interactive online course that brings together metaphysical principles with cutting edge somatic practices.
This isn't about learning some vague or abstract spiritual concept, nor is it about singing. It's about how to use your voice and explore embodiment from a different angle. Whether you've never worked with your voice before or have tons of experience, Sound & Soma will give you something new. It'll rewire your brain, create new neuro-plastisity and develop your voice using psychologically sound, physiologically and anatomically solid knowledge.
If you know how, your voice can be a catalyst to regulate well-being, induce altered states of consciousness and heal from trauma (without needing to hash it over).

what this course isn't
It isn't about catharsis or vomiting sound out which, unfortunately, I've seen way too often! This is a trauma informed approach. Catharsis can be re-traumatising as boundaries easily get violated. It also can become a habit to re-create intensity which is a form of addiction that prevents more subtle nuances of growth. Overwhelm isn't helpful, it locks the nervous system back into more shame, adding further layers to already existing ones.
Real voice work leaves you feeling replenished, calm and energised, expansive and connected to yourself. It restores a profound sense of agency and trust in life and your ability to cope.
Here's how it works ...
In weekly modules recorded on Zoom you'll get all the theory you need to understand the physiology, anatomy, metaphysics of why we do certain excersises and the principles that underpin them. These calls will be held on Modays at 10 a.m. London time UK.
In weekly practice sessions on zoom (potentially alternating between different time zones depending on participants locations) you'll learn how to work with your body instead of against it. In these sessions Cordelia will build upon and guide you through new excersises each week and offer strategic adjustments. So you can get the personal attention that makes all the difference. Practice sessions will be on Wednedays 6p.m. London time UK.
And because "sounds" speak louder than words and your voice developed in relationship; we're including interactive and relational aspects that encourage connection not only to yourself but to others aswell, so your expression is heard and we create a sense of community. Because of this participation requires that you have your cameras on during the practice sessions.
We'll also have a private Facebook group where you can get to know eachother better, relate, ask me any questions, share how it's going and practice being more visible.
You'll also get handouts that accompany the essential theory, anatomy of the voice and the essential exercises we cover.
